At least 12 people including 4 children died in a road accident today in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. District Magistrate of Hathras told Aakashvani that accident happened near village Meetai in Chandpa police station area on NH-93 when there was a head-on collision between a roadways bus and a Tata Magic vehicle. In the accident, 12 people including four children traveling in the Max vehicle died tragically and 16 people were injured. The condition of four of the injured is critical. They have been referred to Aligarh from the district hospital. The remaining injured people are undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
The President of India Droupadi Murmu expressed her condolences for the deceased. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and injured would be given Rs. 50,000. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also express deep sorrow over the incident and asked the officials to help the injured in every possible manner.
