12.35 lakh tonnes Bharat Chana Dals, 5,663.07 tonnes Bharat Moong Dals & 118 tonnes of Bharat Masur Dal sold to consumers: Centre

Over three lakh tonnes of chana stock have been additionally allocated for retail sale in the form of Bharat Chana Dal and Chana whole. In a written reply in Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, B.L. Verma, informed that Bharat Chana Dal is sold for 70 rupees per kilogram and Chana whole at a price of 58 rupees per kilogram.

 

The statement issued by the minister says that the Bharat brand is extended to moong and masur dal. Bharat Masur Dal is sold at 89 rupees per kg. A total of 12.35 lakh tonnes of Bharat Chana Dal, over 5,663 tonnes of Bharat Moong Dal, and 118 tonnes of Bharat Masur Dal have been sold to consumers to date. The Bharat brand of food items is distributed through its own retail outlets and mobile vans of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), Kendriya Bhandar, and the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Limited (NCCF), e-commerce platforms, and big chain retailers.
