10th Edition of Joint Military Exercise between Indian Army and Seychelles Defence Forces commences

 

The Tenth Edition of Joint Military Exercise ‘LAMITIYE’, between Indian Army & Seychelles Defence Forces, commenced at Seychelles Defence Academy on Monday. The biennial Joint Exercise is being conducted at Seychelles from 18 to 27 March.


The Exercise aims to achieve cohesion, jointness and interoperability between both the Defence Forces during Peace Keeping Operations.
 

The 10-day-long Joint Exercise will include Field Training, combat discussions, lectures and demonstrations, concluding with two days of Validation Exercise.
 

The exercise ‘LAMITIYE’, meaning ‘Friendship’ in the Creole language, has been conducted in Seychelles since 2001. Both sides will jointly train, plan and execute tactical drills for neutralization of likely threats, while exploiting and showcasing state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
