The Centre said that nearly 1 lakh 20 thousand minority students have benefited under the Naya Savera scheme. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Smriti Irani informed this in Lok Sabha today. Ms. Irani said that this scheme was implemented to assist students belonging to Sikh, Jain,Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi communities by way of special coaching for qualifying examinations for admission in various courses. The minister said that the scheme was implemented across the country through empaneled Project Implementing Agencies.
