The 1.0-hectare integrated agriculture system model developed under the All India Integrated Agricultural System Research Project by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar, Haryana, has received national recognition. University Vice Chancellor B.R. Kamboj emphasised that this model allows farmers to engage in diverse agricultural activities, including cultivating various crops, vegetables, and fruits, along with animal husbandry, earthworm compost production, mushroom cultivation, and biogas production.
This model is particularly designed for small and marginal farmers, enabling them to maximise the use of available resources, reduce agricultural costs, and increase production. Kamboj highlighted that the integrated approach is environmentally friendly and helps farmers generate income year-round. Additionally, it contributes to enhancing the fertility of the soil, benefiting long-term agricultural sustainability.
