The Trinamool Congress today released a video to claim that BJP supporters damaged the statue of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar during violence in Kolkata and said it submitted them to the Election Commission.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, TMC leader Derek O'Brien said, the video clearly establishes what the BJP did. He said, yesterday's event has shocked and hurt Bengali pride.

Trinamool Congress also knocked the door of Election Commission blaming BJP for violence in Amit Shah's roadshow in Kolkata yesterday. A party delegation comprising of TMC MPs Sukhendu Sekhar Roy and Derek O Brien met the commission over the issue and submitted video proofs over alleged involvement of BJP workers in the violence.

Talking to reporters, Mr Ray alleged that a large number of miscreants were brought by BJP from neighbouring states to do the  violence and the party has urged the poll panel to look into the matter. He also reiterated his party's allegation the statue of social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was vandalised by BJP workers which has been caught by camera. Earlier today  Derek O'Brien released a video supporting TMC claim that BJP supporters damaged the statue.
