Severe dust storm hits several parts of Delhi

A severe dust storm hit several parts of New Delhi this evening. A thick haze was hanging over the national capital due to the dust storm affecting visibility. 

Delhi International Airport's flight operations were suspended for some time and several flights were also diverted from Delhi Airport due to the severe dust storm. The Palam Observatory recorded a high of 43.4 degrees Celsius and a low of 32.4 degrees today.
 
Meteorological Department official said that thunder storm and light rain are also expected because of a western disturbance and it is likely to bring down temperature.
 
A dust storm and light rainfall in parts of Rajasthan brought respite for residents from heatwave as the mercury came down a few notches. A Meteorological Department official said that Jaipur received 3.2 mm rainfall. The maximum temperature in the state capital was 42.8 degrees Celsius.

Churu, however, remained the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 47 degrees Celsius, followed by 46.3 degrees Celsius each in Sri Ganganagar and Bikaner.
