CAA protest will not affect government or BJP: Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika

Assam Urban Development Minister Pijush Hazarika has said that the CAA protest will not affect the government or the BJP.

Participating in an AIR talk show last night, Mr Hazarika said that the people of the state-supported the BJP in the last Lok Sabha elections as it was the part of the party's commitment.

He said that the government is ready to talk to agitators but it is of late seen that the protest is motivated by political agenda.

The Minister also informed that 9 thousand solar lights to be installed in urban areas of the state.

Mr Hazarika said that financial aid has been given to the women Self Help Groups in Assam.

The Minister also added that stress has been given in maintaining cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban.
