AIR Pics
In Iran, at least five people were killed and 120 injured as an earthquake struck the country's East Azerbaijan province in the wee hours today.

The US Geological Survey puts the quake's magnitude at 5.8 at a depth of 10 kilometers. It said, shallow earthquakes tend to cause more damage.

Iran is located on major seismic faults and experiences one earthquake a day on average. In 2003, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake flattened the historic city of Bam, killing 26,000 people.
