Terms and Conditions

Prasar Bharati permits Private FM Radio Broadcasters to carry All India Radio News, free of cost, on trial basis initially till 31st May 2019 and thereafter extended till 30th, November,2019. Private FM Radio broadcasters would be permitted to broadcast All India Radio (AIR) News bulletins, in English,Hindi, and Regional Languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia,Tamil and Telugu) as per list of bulletins given in News Schedule, subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Any Private FM broadcaster who intends to broadcast the news bulletins will first register with NSD:AIR on the website http://newsonair.com/Broadcaster-Reg-TnC.aspx

2. AIR News bulletins shall be carried in toto, in an unaltered form.

3. The commercials which are broadcast during news bulletins have to be carried along with news in toto.

4. Private FM Broadcasters will give due credit to AIR for sourcing their news.

5. Private FM Broadcasters will carry AIR News bulletins either simultaneously or deferred live by not more than 30 minutes. In case of deferred live, an announcement should precede that it is a deferred live broadcast.

6. The Private FM Broadcasters shall carry the news bulletins only on their own channels which shall not be shared with any other channel/platform or person.

7. The news bulletins of AIR are currently carried through the terrestrial mode and are also available on the DTH Platform including DD Free Dish, which is free to air. The Private FM Broadcasters shall make arrangements at their own cost for receiving the signals of the news bulletins of AIR and broadcasting them, live or recorded, over their channels. They shall make all efforts to ensure that the quality of the broadcast is not compromised.The technical parameters are given at Technical Parameter Page.

8. The switch-over of news bulletins or change in their schedule of broadcast by AIR as a result of a compulsion on account of mandatory relay, National mourning, etc. shall be monitored by private FM broadcasters themselves so that the broadcast is taken directly from DTH Free Dish or any other platform of News Services Division, AIR.

9. In case of violation of the above conditions, appropriate action will be taken.

10. Name of the Private FM Broadcaster shall be displayed on the ‘List of Registered Broadcasters’.

11. During the trial period, private FM broadcasters may avoid broadcasting in disturbed/border and Naxal areas.

12. The registered broadcasters shall submit a status report by 5th of every month in approved format given in Monthly Report.

13. Broadcast of AIR News by any FM Radio Channel can only be done after accepting the above Terms and Conditions.
